Coalition for independent contractors association for family businesses, owner operators, technology contractors, transportation contractors, healthcare contractors and construction professionals.

As an independent contractor in technology/telecom, you are part of a very large – and growing – group of professionals.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, technology professionals work in one of the nation’s largest industry sectors, numbering millions of jobs in 2006.

While independent contractors in any industry enjoy the freedom of being their own boss, dictating their schedule and having increased flexibility in their career, there are increasing concerns that special interest groups and others have encroached on this freedom and are making it more and more difficult to be self-employed. That’s where we come in.

The Coalition for Independent Contractor Freedom (CFICF) is working to inform independent technology/telecom contractors – and the people who hire them – about the issues that threaten this working way of life and jeopardize an important business model.
